The Purloined Letter

Perhaps it was  the blandness of the web page but I had to really focus hard in order to get the story to sink in. But once it did I truly understood and marveled at Edgar Allan Poe's ability to make a character that could hoodwink another character so elegantly and effectively.  "The Purloined Letter" is a great detective story that shows that no triumph can come of underestimating the enemy. The Prefect in this story was so full of himself and so focused on the reward he would get that he overlooked hiding places that he deemed unnecessary which where those that were simple. Dupin on the other hand rationalized all possibilities and found the letter with ease in the simpliest of places. In the end, according to Dupin, the reward clouded the Prefects judgement.

The Use of Force

I must admit that when i was reading this story i couldn't help but think that it was going to have a supernatural ending to it. It just seemed to point in that direction for me. I really thought it was interesting to see how the doctors professional composure seemed to dwindle as he was continuously unsuccessful in getting the girl to open her mouth. He gave up on the wooden spatula and used the metal spoon end to pry it open. And I understand why the little girl didn't want anyone to know about her illness but it would only make things worse for her in the long run. But, i suppose that since she was only a kid she really didn't have a great grasp on the situation

Love is Love

She is the air I breath and the beauty I seek
Her eyes are more blue than the sky itself
How can such a beautiful creature love me
Next to her I am nothing but a fly
I know now what is it to be in the presence of a goddess
And I feel not the least bit worthy
Often I would ask her why it is that she loves me
And she would reply “Because love is love”

While I Read the Da Vinci Code I Found Out About This

Pronounced “fy”
not to be confused with PI.
One point six one eight
it is the bases on which God has and will create.

The human body is a living breathing Phi
if you doubt me,then here lets give it a try.
Measure from head to floor then stomach to floor
the quotient of the two will shock you I'm sure.
One point six one eight will forever be the answer
lets try another since I love to banter

Count the number of bees in a beehive, any will do
take the total of both male and female and divide the two.
If the answer illudes you then you're dumb because you don't know
that one point six one eight is the Golden Ratio.

Wanting(revision)

I found you last winter and I couldn't believe my luck
You caught my eye when I came in the store
Your color was so rich and vibrant
Your texture, so smooth that I feared one touch might ruin you
Being with you would make others envious of me
You would be my warmth and shelter from the merciless winter
If I had you, I would treasure you and take the best of care of you
I'd see to it that no one steals you from me
And I would treat you with respect and love
Because something like you is hard to find
But alas you cost $825.99 and I'd be damned if I paid that much for a coat

Wanting

I found you last winter and I couldn't believe my luck
You caught my eye when I came in the store
Your color was so beautiful as if you had surpass those of the rainbow
Your texture, so smooth that I feared one touch might ruin you
I knew that having you would make other men envious of me
I knew that having you would make this merciless winter feel so warm
If I had you, I would treasure you and take the best of care of you
I'd see to it that no harm came to you
Under my care you would continue to be a true master piece
Because something like you is hard to find
But alas you cost $825.99 and I'd be damned if I paid that much for a coat

My Special 3rd Grade Waiting Day (revisioned)

Why am always the last to be picked up?
Here I am with my Thundercat folder
waiting for that big blue dodge pick up.

Tardiness has always plagued my family
whether it was weddings or meeting
or even the year long task of building a fort in a tree.

I had made it my goal 7
to be on time for everything
otherwise take me then and there heaven.

Oh look my ride finally shows an hour late
my dad uses his English accent:
“oh sorry bout that mate”

I give him the mean eye to show I mean business
but he keeps on grinning
and I thought he couldn't care less.

For some reason we rode to the hospital
 it was white and big
and really overrun by sick people.

Through a door we went and there lay Mom
she was holding something and to my dad she said
“This little guy is strong”

I stepped over to go greet her
something squirmed from her hands
and thats how I came to meet my new baby brother.
