I found you last winter and I couldn't believe my luck
You caught my eye when I came in the store
Your color was so rich and vibrant
Your texture, so smooth that I feared one touch might ruin you
Being with you would make others envious of me
You would be my warmth and shelter from the merciless winter
If I had you, I would treasure you and take the best of care of you
I'd see to it that no one steals you from me
And I would treat you with respect and love
Because something like you is hard to find
But alas you cost $825.99 and I'd be damned if I paid that much for a coat
Wow I could have sworn this would end like a love a Disney fairytale. I really like the comical ending you gave the poem compared to the romantic beginning where there is so much sincerity, and love. Great Job you had me laughing.
ReplyDeleteThis was great. I kept on wondering who this person was that you wanted, but you ended it with it being a coat. Really clever and nice word flow. Great work.
ReplyDeleteTHIS POEM IS AWESOME. I LIKE THE RHYTHEM OF IT. SOMEWAT LIKE A PUZZLE. I KIND OF FIGURED OUT WAT YOU WAS TALKING ABOUT WHEN YOU SAID YOU CAUGHT MY EYE WHEN I ENTERED THE STORE. I LIKE HOW THE FLOW OF THE POEM CAN MAKE PEOPLE ACTUALLY THINK THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT A WOMAN. REAL COOL POEM
