Work

Work,
I need the money so I gotta go to
work.
From five to ten I
work.
But at ten I realize I've got more
work.
Not from my job but my school-
work.
Its my nine to four job that gave me this
work.
English, history, math all give me problems on which I have to
work.
After some sleep its back to my nine to four
work.
Then its off to my five to ten
work.
Then I stay up half the night doing more
work.
And I continue this cycle of work work
work.
And I wonder when the time will come when I can
rest.

  1. Can totally relate to this. I'm always working and going to school. We all need to work, so I feel like this poem connections with almost everyone's lines. I thought the "work" pattern every sentence was cool, and then you ended it with rest. Good job.

  2. The flow is what really brings thing poem together. If i were you i would do something with the amount of syllables in every line. That would really bring the flow to be one, in my opinion.

  3. I love the pattern you used - Great flow! The end really tied everything together...
