Waiting to enter, anticipation heightens.
Straight lines, curved lines, and some with right angles.
Endless possibilities of explosions formulate
as you as connect each outcome to that of the past.
One foot in front of the other.
Alas you are not alone
but among frustrated people who no doubt share many of your theories.
Your successors long to take your spot
while you long for your preceder's.
One foot in front of the other.
After one glance downward
you ponder
for a time when the hands ever moved so slowly?
An internal conflict arises.
Do you rush to get the green or red, the mild or hot
or do you stay or go?
One foot in front of the other.
For your decision will determine what you see
or perhaps what you do not.
Your time is coming
the length of time is only determined by clones in red vests and black slacks.
One foot in front of the other.
You are ready
have been ready for sometime now.
But must wait,
wait on line for a movie.
Wow. Great imagery, i thought it was going somewhere else until the last line .. great poem and great job
ReplyDeleteGreat job describing the actual waiting process. There's just this thing about the ending I can't grasp but could be different. Overall It was Great.
ReplyDeleteI LIKE THIS POEM FOR THE FACT THAT WHEN YOU START READING THIS POEM YOU ASK YOURSELF MANY QUESTIONS UNTIL THE END. WHO KNEW THIS NARRATOR WAS WAITING ON LINE. REALLY SMART HOW YOU PUT THE POEM TOGETHER. VERY DESCRIPTIVE WITH THE IMAGERY. ALMOST AS IF YOU WAS CONDUCTING A PUZZLE
ReplyDeleteTHIS POEM WAS REALLY COOL. THIS POEM MADE ME ASK MYSELF MANY QUESTIONS UNTIL I GOT TO THE END. TO ME IT WAS LIKE A PUZZLE. REAL COOL AND I LIKE HOW YOU PUT THE POEM TOGETHER. ALSO DESCRIPTIVE TOWARDS THE BEGINING

Good observation of people escaping from their daily lives to watch a motion picture. All together frustrated, and yet waiting together for the same experience.
