Waiting to enter, anticipating heightens.
Straight lines, curved lines, and some with right angles.
The imagination runs wild
as past experience tries to formulate what will happen.
You are not alone
but among frustrated people.
Your successors long to take your spot
while you yourself long for your preceder's.
You search your memory
for a time when the face ever moved so slowly.
An internal third world war arises.
Do you choose green or red, hot or cold,
hold or release?
For your decision will determine what you see
or perhaps what you do not.
Your time is coming
but it is determined by clones in red.
Your are ready.
You have been ready for sometime now.
But alas you must wait,
wait on line for a movie.
I REALLY LIKE THIS POEM, I MUST SAY IT HAD ME UNDER SUSPENSE. I LIKE HOW YOU DESCRIBED HOW LONG THE LINE WAS AND HOW YOU MADE ME AS A READER BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING UNSUSPECTED WAS WAITING TO HAPPEN
ReplyDeleteWow this is a really great illustration of what it means to wait and wait and wait, especially for a movie. Then the line does become a battle feild in it's own when it's suppose to be a rule of order. This poem is in depth.
ReplyDeleteI really like the poem Worth the Wait! It was comical and romantic. I love the concept because its very relatable, everyone has been through first date anxiety. The poems rythm was cool and made my heart smile. Great job!
