Wanting

I found you last winter and I couldn't believe my luck
You caught my eye when I came in the store
Your color was so beautiful as if you had surpass those of the rainbow
Your texture, so smooth that I feared one touch might ruin you
I knew that having you would make other men envious of me
I knew that having you would make this merciless winter feel so warm
If I had you, I would treasure you and take the best of care of you
I'd see to it that no harm came to you
Under my care you would continue to be a true master piece
Because something like you is hard to find
But alas you cost $825.99 and I'd be damned if I paid that much for a coat

  1. This is a funny poem. It seem as if its talking about a beautiful women and its actually about a coat. Made me laugh. You should write more like this one, very good.

  2. I love the quick turn around at the end of this poem it's a nice clean cut to comedy which is very cool. Made it that much more enjoyable.

  3. I don't like the rainbow comparison. There are more colors in life to compare it to a rainbow. I felt it's easy for anything to have better colors than in a rainbow, making it a simple comment.

And it's no surprise. People aren't the only beautiful things.
